News / Unboxed launches a new website with MySchoolDirect for M&S

posted on: October 19, 2011

MySchoolDirect specialises in partnering with vendors of children’s clothing to raise funds for schools in the UK. When they needed a web development agency to design and develop a bespoke school uniform website with M&S, they came to Unboxed Consulting. MySchooldirect wanted to work with Ruby on Rails web developers, and also liked Unboxed Consulting’s Agile way of working.

In 6 weeks, the website was designed, developed and then launched to coincide with the first term of the school year. The project started with the end user in mind and included full user experience analysis, as well as user testing once functionality was delivered.  Our Agile methodology allowed Unboxed to react quickly to changes, from updating functionality due to user feedback to last minute branding changes.

Now schools are able to browse the M&S catalogue, sign up to promotional events and create catalogues specific to their school uniforms. In addition, an online forum was built to allow parents to engage with their schools and find out more about the scheme.
