The future of web development - Murray S
These two articles both cover similar ground; they review the current state of web development and come to a conclusion. They come at it from slightly different angles but their conclusions are the same - we should be excited about web components and prefer to develop against these standards rather than embracing new frameworks that try to reinvent the wheel somewhat.

Netflix API Resilience - Patrick V
A discussion on how Netflix has used the circuit breaker pattern to provide better APIs and monitor their system health. Interesting food for thought for making resilient services. If you liked this, it's useful to know that many of the tools that Netflix use to implement this sort of thing are available on their github page.
Track of the Week - Murray S
I swore I wouldn't just pick this track. I planned to scour my music library for the greatest, yet most obscure track that would show off my excellent taste in music. Turns out that while I do have excellent taste in music* it's hard to pick single tracks because I mostly listen to full albums, but this is one of the few exceptions to that habit. I go back to this again and again and again and I haven't singled out a song like this for quite some time.
So here you go an excellent remix of an already brilliant song: "The Mother We Share (Miaoux Miaoux remix)" - by CHVRCHES
It really is the best song, played on the prettiest synths.
*: Not really, I mainly listen to twee indiepop and shouty guitar bands. Mostly from Scotland.
